This year saw a handful of unfortunate deaths happen in the NFL community, including former Baltimore Ravens running back Alex Collins and quarterback Ryan Mallett, both of whom suffered tragic accidents that could have possibly been avoided.
Collins was only 28 years of age when he died on the scene in a motorcycle accident back in August 2023. The crash is reportedly still under investigation.
Mallett, a former New England Patriots backup who also played in Baltimore, died at age 35 in June 2023 after an apparent drowning while swimming with his girlfriend in Florida.
Neither of those players were active in the NFL at the time of their passing, as was the case for Dwayne Haskins when he died in 2022.
